So HLS requires that we continue to do some sort of work related to our studies during our long breaks at Cambridge. Umm. But I did just learn that
Venice had the world's first recognizable patent system as of 1474. So I guess that justifies the Italy trip!

Educational expenses are tax deductalble too - so you can deduct your Italy expenses.
Except today at the beginning of class, the lecturer actually asked "did anyone happen to go to Venice over the break," but I didn't really raise my hand right away because I figured it was probably a trick question and if I said yes I'd have to explain Venice patent law. While I was debating this in my head, though, she said "oh well, I'm just looking for a hotel to stay at and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Anyway..."
So I missed that opening for boasting and bragging.
