Princess and the Pea
I'm experiencing a Bedding Situation. Basically, the mattress on my bed here is coated (on both sides) with some sort of waterproof plastic. It's part of the mattress, not something placed over it. It feels pretty icky to sleep on. Probably to ameliorate this, the mattress also came with a very thing mattress cover placed over it. On top of that, I've put another, slightly thicker mattress pad, a (very flat) "duvet" from Nick's parents' house, and two fitted sheets (long story about how I ended up with two). I still can very much feel the mattress coating beneath it all though. Yuck.

you should rotate your matress so that it wears evenly. so maybe once a month, you rotate your matress so that the head end becomes the feet end. the problem is that you can only get two of the possible four configurations using this rotation. you also must rotate it so that the underneith becomes the top. but if you only do this, then the feet end will always stay the feet end. so there isn't a single rotation you can use and generate all of the possible configurations. this is sad news because after several months, you won't be able to remember which of the two rotates you should be using.
